Victim Identified in Homicide North of Downtown Colorado Springs

Colorado Springs, CO – Police have identified the victim of a homicide that occurred north of downtown on Thursday, August 28, 2025.

According to the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD), officers were dispatched around 8:15 a.m. to the 100 block of West Cache La Poudre Street, near North Cascade Avenue, after a report of a deceased individual. When officers arrived, they located a man suffering from at least one stab wound.

On Friday, August 29, the El Paso County Coroner’s Office conducted an autopsy and confirmed the victim as 48-year-old Daniel Parsons. The coroner will determine the official cause and manner of death, though CSPD has classified the case as a homicide.

This incident marks the 24th homicide in Colorado Springs in 2025, compared to 29 at this time in 2024.
