High-Speed Pursuit Ends in Crash on Peachtree Industrial Boulevard in Doraville
DUNWOODY, GA — A dangerous multi-jurisdictional police pursuit that began after an aggravated assault ended in a crash Tuesday on Peachtree Industrial Boulevard, just north of I-285, within the City of Doraville, according to Dunwoody Police.
The incident unfolded following an aggravated assault reported in unincorporated DeKalb County. The suspect vehicle was first spotted in Brookhaven, then fled back into unincorporated DeKalb, where DeKalb County Police took over the pursuit.
As the chase crossed city lines into Dunwoody, officers with the Dunwoody Police Department located the suspect vehicle on Ashford Dunwoody Road. Upon being approached, the driver fled from officers at high speed.
During the pursuit, the suspect vehicle was involved in a crash at Mount Vernon Road and Oxford Chase Way, but the driver failed to stop and continued fleeing the scene. The pursuit stretched through multiple jurisdictions, including Sandy Springs, Gwinnett County, and finally into Doraville, where the suspect vehicle crashed and came to a stop on Peachtree Industrial Boulevard, effectively ending the pursuit.
Authorities have not released the suspect’s identity or details regarding injuries or charges at this time. It remains unclear whether any other individuals were involved or injured during the pursuit and subsequent crashes.
The investigation is ongoing, and charges are expected to follow as multiple agencies work together to process the incident and gather additional information.
