Skyler Norman, 70, Dies After Being Struck by Tractor-Trailer at Fremont Gas Station

FREMONT, Neb. – A tragic accident claimed the life of 70-year-old Skyler Norman of Gem, Kansas, Thursday evening when he was struck by a tractor-trailer at a gas station north of Fremont.

According to a release from the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched to the Sapp Bros. Travel Center shortly before 6:45 p.m. Upon arrival, officers determined that Norman had been struck by a tractor-trailer near the fuel island.

Norman was transported to a local hospital but succumbed to his injuries.

The incident remains under investigation by the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office, with assistance from the Nebraska State Patrol. Authorities have not released additional details regarding the circumstances of the crash or whether charges will be filed.

This tragic event serves as a reminder of the dangers pedestrians can face in busy areas, even in locations such as gas stations where vehicles are moving at lower speeds.
