HOPEWELL, Va. — Police are investigating a deadly shooting that claimed the life of a man in a Hopewell neighborhood on Friday night.
Officers with the Hopewell Police Department responded to the scene after receiving reports of gunfire. When they arrived, they discovered a male victim suffering from several gunshot wounds. Despite efforts, he succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
The victim has since been identified as 34-year-old Travis Lamont Coleman of Hopewell.
At this time, investigators have not released any suspect information or details surrounding what led to the shooting. The department’s Criminal Investigation Unit is actively working the case, gathering evidence and speaking with potential witnesses.
