Cameron Walsh – Driver Arrested After Fatal Pedestrian Crash in Colorado Spring

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – A deadly crash late Friday night has left one person dead and a driver under investigation for impaired driving.

According to the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD), the incident occurred at approximately 10:37 p.m. near the intersection of U.S. Highway 24 and 26th Street. Officers, troopers with the Colorado State Patrol, and Colorado Springs Fire Department personnel responded to the scene after reports of a vehicle striking a pedestrian. Despite life-saving efforts, the victim died at the scene. Their identity has not yet been released, pending family notification.

Police reported that the driver fled the area before first responders arrived. After an extensive search, investigators identified the suspect as Cameron Walsh, who was taken into custody. CSPD confirmed that alcohol was a contributing factor in the crash, and charges are pending as detectives continue to review evidence.

The CSPD Major Crash Team and homicide detectives are working with Colorado State Patrol to reconstruct the incident. Findings will be submitted to the district attorney’s office for formal charges.

Authorities stressed the devastating consequences of impaired driving and urged community members to use safe alternatives to drinking and driving.
