SANFORD, N.C. — Sanford police are investigating a shooting that left 44-year-old Eugenio Nicolas Bolainez Vanegas dead on Saturday morning.
Authorities said they were called around 5:45 a.m. to ETS Gaming on Lee Avenue following reports of a shooting. When officers arrived, they found Bolainez Vanegas suffering from gunshot wounds and pronounced him dead at the scene.
Police believe the shooting stemmed from an altercation inside the business and have indicated that it appears to be an isolated incident. The investigation is ongoing as officers continue to gather evidence and speak with witnesses.
