BOCA RATON, Fla. — Authorities have identified Tiana Ganswith, 49, of Margate, as the woman who tragically lost her life early Sunday morning in a single-vehicle crash in unincorporated Boca Raton.
The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office reported that the accident occurred around 1:28 a.m. on September 7, north of Sandalfoot Boulevard on State Road 7. Ganswith was driving a 2017 Kia Sorento northbound when the SUV left the roadway, rotated clockwise, struck a guardrail, and rolled into a canal on the east side of the road.
A passenger, Gerard Esper, 48, of Hollywood, managed to escape from the sinking vehicle and call for help. He sustained minor injuries and was transported to West Boca Medical Center. Fire Rescue teams extricated Ganswith and took her to Boca Raton Regional Hospital, where she was pronounced dead shortly after 2:22 a.m.
Authorities confirmed that her next of kin have been notified. The cause of the crash remains under investigation, though no foul play is suspected.
