DALLAS, Texas — Dallas police are investigating a deadly shooting that left one man dead early Sunday morning in southern Dallas.
Officers responded just after 1:10 a.m. to the 7500 block of Chaucer Place, where they discovered 27-year-old Eiver Valecillos suffering from gunshot wounds. Dallas Fire-Rescue personnel pronounced him dead at the scene.
According to investigators, a preliminary investigation identified 28-year-old Victor Reyes-Valbuena Najera as the suspect. Detectives believe Najera shot Valecillos during the incident before fleeing the area.
A warrant has since been issued for Najera’s arrest on a murder charge.
The Dallas Police Department confirmed the investigation remains active and is urging anyone with information regarding Najera’s whereabouts to contact homicide detectives or call Crime Stoppers anonymously.
