Decatur, GA — A man is recovering after being shot Tuesday evening in a busy section of DeKalb County. The shooting occurred in the 4300 block of Memorial Drive in unincorporated Decatur, prompting a large police response as investigators began piecing together what led to the violence.
DeKalb County Police say officers were dispatched to the scene shortly after receiving reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, they located a male victim suffering from at least one gunshot wound. Emergency responders quickly transported him to a nearby hospital, where officials say he is expected to survive.
While the victim’s identity has not yet been released, authorities confirmed that his injuries, though serious, are not believed to be life-threatening.
