Tragedy in East Memphis: Woman Killed, Car Stolen in Broad Daylight
MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A shocking act of violence has left the East Memphis community reeling after a woman was found dead outside a residence on South Perkins Road on Wednesday afternoon. Memphis Police responded to a “man down” call at approximately 4:34 p.m. on June 4, 2025, in the 1800 block of South Perkins, near the intersection with East Mallory Avenue.
When officers arrived on the scene, they discovered a woman deceased at the location. The Memphis Police Department has since confirmed that the woman was the victim of a homicide and that her vehicle — a blue 2020 Chevrolet Camaro — was stolen in the process.
Crime scene tape surrounded the area for hours as homicide investigators processed the scene and gathered evidence in what has now become an active and deeply troubling murder investigation. Detectives worked into the evening canvassing the area for potential witnesses or surveillance footage that may shed light on the events leading up to the woman’s death.
