CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. — A woman has died following a shooting that occurred in the early hours of Saturday, July 12, 2025, in Chesterfield County. Police are actively investigating the incident and asking for the public’s help as they work to determine what led to the tragic events.
At approximately 2:53 a.m., officers with the Chesterfield County Police Department responded to a report of a shooting in the 4000 block of Belcourse Road. Upon arrival, officers found a woman unresponsive and suffering from a gunshot wound. She was quickly transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries but tragically succumbed to those injuries shortly after arriving.
As of now, the woman’s identity has not been released, pending notification of her next of kin. Authorities have confirmed that there is no ongoing threat to the public, and the circumstances surrounding the shooting remain under investigation.
