Nicholas Justin Dempsey, 34, Tragically Dies in Single-Vehicle Crash in Putnam County, GA
Putnam County, GA — The community of Eatonton is mourning the heartbreaking loss of Nicholas Justin Dempsey, 34, who died in a tragic single-vehicle crash late Tuesday evening, June 3, 2025.
According to the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office, the fatal accident occurred near Crooked Creek Drive, close to Lake Lanier, shortly before 10 p.m. Authorities say Dempsey was driving a 2015 Nissan Titan when the vehicle veered off the roadway and struck a tree.
First responders arrived at the scene to find Dempsey unresponsive inside the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Officials have indicated that there are no immediate signs of foul play, and an autopsy is pending as part of the ongoing investigation.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is assisting with the inquiry to determine the precise cause of the crash.
