Jacksonville Police Seek Help Identifying Hit-and-Run Driver in Tragic Death of Robbie Roberts

JACKSONVILLE, FL — Authorities are once again asking for the community’s help in solving a heartbreaking hit-and-run case that claimed the life of 53-year-old Robbie Roberts, a beloved retired U.S. Air Force veteran.

On the morning of Tuesday, October 22, 2024, Roberts was taking her usual early walk through the Hillcrest neighborhood when tragedy struck. While crossing at the intersection of Normandy Boulevard and Lenox Avenue, Roberts was hit by a dark-colored vehicle, which then fled the scene without stopping to help.

Roberts was rushed to the hospital, where she fought for her life for several days. Tragically, she passed away just days before her 54th birthday.

Investigators believe the vehicle involved is a Nissan Juke or a similar model, as seen in surveillance footage from the area. Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office has released video of the suspected car and is asking anyone who may recognize it or who has any information about the driver to come forward.

“Someone knows who was behind the wheel that morning,” said a spokesperson for JSO. “We are committed to finding answers and bringing justice to Robbie’s family.”

If you have any information, you are urged to contact the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office at 904-630-0500. Tips can also be submitted anonymously to First Coast Crime Stoppers at 1-866-845-TIPS (8477).

Even the smallest detail could help investigators bring closure to the family and loved ones of Robbie Roberts.
