EDINBURG, Texas – City officials have confirmed the tragic death of Adrian Mario Garza, a 35-year-old resident of McAllen, following a collision Tuesday morning in Edinburg.
The crash occurred shortly after 7:00 a.m. at the intersection of Trenton and McColl Roads. According to an official release, a black Chevrolet Malibu failed to yield the right of way while attempting a turn onto McColl Road. Garza, who was traveling eastbound on Trenton Road on a motorcycle, collided with the vehicle.
Garza was rushed to the hospital with critical injuries but, despite medical efforts, he succumbed to his injuries later that day.
The Edinburg Police Department has confirmed the investigation remains ongoing. Officials have not released further details regarding the Malibu driver or whether charges will be filed.
Community members who knew Garza described him as a hardworking, kindhearted individual whose sudden passing has left his loved ones devastated.
Authorities continue to urge drivers to remain vigilant and cautious, especially when making turns at busy intersections, as investigations into the crash proceed.
