LOGAN COUNTY, OK — A devastating early morning fire claimed the lives of three people and left two firefighters injured on Saturday, July 12, in the 6000 block of Terrell Road, according to Emergency Manager Steven Haga.
The blaze was reported at approximately 5:54 a.m., prompting a multi-agency response from Guthrie, Sooner, Woodcrest, Oak Cliff, and Meridian fire departments. When crews arrived, the mobile home was already engulfed in flames.
Haga confirmed that three individuals escaped the fire and were transported for medical evaluation. Three others were tragically found deceased inside the structure. The names of the victims have not yet been released pending notification of next of kin.
“It was a mobile home, and it is destroyed,” Haga stated, underscoring the intensity of the fire and the total loss of the structure.
Two firefighters were also injured during firefighting efforts. One was transported to a hospital in Guthrie, and the other to a medical facility in Oklahoma City. Fortunately, both are expected to recover.
The Oklahoma State Fire Marshal’s Office has taken over the investigation, and the cause of the fire remains undetermined at this time.
This tragic incident has left the Logan County community grieving the loss of life and serves as a stark reminder of the dangers firefighters face and the fragility of life. Further updates will be released as the investigation continues.
