TAYLOR MILL, Ky. — A 66-year-old man has died following a two-vehicle crash on Taylor Mill Road Monday morning, authorities reported.
The Kenton County Police Department said officers responded to the scene near Red Bud just before 10 a.m. Upon arrival, they found the man, identified as Jeffrey Smith, unresponsive inside his pickup truck. He was transported to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Edgewood, where he was pronounced dead.
The driver of the dump truck involved in the collision sustained minor injuries and was released from the hospital. According to police, preliminary investigation indicates the dump truck was traveling southbound when it partially left the right side of the roadway. As the driver corrected back onto the road, the truck crossed into the northbound lane, striking Smith’s pickup truck.
The crash remains under investigation by the Kenton County Police Department as officials work to determine the exact circumstances that led to the fatal accident.
