19-Year-Old Marley Galvan Identified as Victim in Fatal Marengo Crash

MCHENRY COUNTY, Ill. — Authorities have identified the victim of a tragic single-vehicle crash in Marengo as 19-year-old Marley Galvan of Janesville, Wisconsin. The fatal accident occurred on Monday at approximately 22820 River Road, according to the McHenry County Coroner’s Office.

Investigators determined that Galvan’s vehicle was traveling along River Road when it misjudged a curve, veered off the north side of the roadway, and struck both a post and a tree. The impact of the collision proved fatal for Galvan, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

A passenger traveling with Galvan was critically injured and transported to Javon Bea Hospital for emergency treatment. As of Tuesday, no updates have been released regarding the passenger’s condition.

An autopsy conducted by the McHenry County Coroner’s Office revealed no immediate findings, and toxicology results are still pending as part of the ongoing investigation. Authorities have not yet determined whether speed, weather, or other factors contributed to the crash.

The McHenry County Sheriff’s Office and the Marengo Fire District continue to work closely with the Coroner’s Office to piece together the events leading up to the accident.
