SUMMERVILLE, S.C. — Authorities have identified the pedestrian killed in an early morning crash on Jedburg Road in Berkeley County.

According to the Berkeley County Coroner’s Office, the victim has been identified as 25-year-old Milly Asencio of Summerville.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol reports the collision occurred around 2:37 a.m. on Friday, October 17, 2025, approximately three miles west of Summerville. Investigators say Asencio was walking east along the westbound side of Jedburg Road when she was struck by a Jeep traveling west.

Emergency responders, including Pineridge Fire & Rescue, the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office, and Berkeley County EMS, arrived quickly at the scene. Despite their efforts, Asencio was pronounced deceased at the scene from her injuries. The driver of the Jeep was uninjured and remained on site, cooperating with investigators.

The Berkeley County Coroner’s Office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident. Authorities have not yet released additional details regarding potential contributing factors.

As the investigation continues, community members are mourning the loss of Milly Asencio, whose life was tragically cut short in the early morning hours.
