LEXINGTON, Ky. — The Fayette County Coroner’s Office has identified the woman killed in a two-vehicle collision on Bryan Station Road Sunday evening as 51-year-old Julie Ann Cooper.
According to the coroner’s report, Cooper died from multiple blunt force injuries sustained in the crash. Emergency crews were called to the scene near Manhattan Drive around 6:30 p.m., where they found two vehicles with significant damage.
The Lexington Fire Department confirmed that Cooper, who was driving one of the vehicles, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the second vehicle declined medical treatment and refused transport to the hospital, officials said.
Authorities remained on-site for several hours as investigators worked to reconstruct the scene and determine the cause of the crash. The roadway was temporarily closed to allow emergency personnel to conduct their work safely.
The Lexington Police Department is continuing to investigate the circumstances that led to the collision. No charges or citations have been announced at this time.
