RIB LAKE, Wis — A woman has died and a man has been arrested following a rollover crash early Monday morning in Taylor County.
According to the Taylor County Sheriff’s Office, the crash occurred around 2:03 a.m. on County Road C near Wood Lake Avenue in the Township of Rib Lake. Deputies, along with Taylor County First Responders, Rib Lake Fire, and Ambulance personnel, were dispatched to the scene after reports of a one-vehicle rollover with an injured passenger trapped inside.
Upon arrival, responders found a heavily damaged sport utility vehicle rolled onto its side in the ditch. The passenger, identified as 49-year-old Sharon M. Kaplon, of Ogema, Wisconsin, was extricated from the vehicle and transported by Rib Lake Ambulance to Aspirus Medford Hospital. She was later airlifted to Aspirus Wausau Hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries several hours later.
