Seguin, Texas — One man is dead, and two others were hospitalized following a major crash early Wednesday morning at the intersection of State Highway 123 Bypass and Interstate 10.
According to Stephanie Larrimore, the Seguin Police Department’s community engagement officer, emergency crews responded to the scene around 6:36 a.m. after reports of a serious multi-vehicle collision.
“Preliminary investigation indicates that a white Hino straight truck traveling westbound on IH 10 left the roadway and fell onto the northbound lanes of State Highway 123 Bypass,” Larrimore said. “The truck struck a gray sedan and then landed on a red sedan, both traveling northbound.”
The drivers of the truck and gray sedan were transported to nearby hospitals with injuries. Tragically, the driver of the red sedan, identified as 63-year-old Anthony Stephenson of Seguin, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The intersection was temporarily closed as authorities investigated and cleared the wreckage. The Seguin Police Department’s Traffic Unit continues to investigate the cause of the crash.
