The Statesboro Police Department (SPD) is actively investigating a fatal shooting and calling on the public for assistance after a deadly incident early Saturday morning, October 25, 2025.

At approximately 1:01 a.m., officers responded to reports of gunfire in the parking lot of 200 Lanier Drive, a busy commercial area that includes Cowboy’s Bar and Smoke Crave. Upon arrival, police discovered 30-year-old Tre G. Mincey, who was found unresponsive and later pronounced deceased at the scene from a gunshot wound.

Authorities were able to confirm the victim’s identity using a portable fingerprint scanner, and his next of kin have since been notified. Detectives, along with SPD’s Criminal Investigations Bureau, quickly began collecting evidence, reviewing surveillance footage, and checking Flock tag reader data to track potential vehicles involved.

Investigators report that multiple witnesses were present at the time of the shooting, but none stayed to speak with officers. SPD is now urging those individuals—or anyone with knowledge of the incident—to come forward, stressing that their cooperation could be key to solving this case and bringing justice for the victim.

The Bulloch County Coroner’s Office will transport Mincey’s body to the GBI Coastal Regional Lab for an autopsy as the investigation continues.
