Authorities have identified the individuals involved in a deadly crash that occurred Friday night on Lovers Lane near Romeo Drive in Christian County, Kentucky, claiming the life of one man and injuring two others.

According to the Christian County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called to the scene around 9:41 p.m. after receiving reports of a serious two-vehicle collision. Investigators say 77-year-old William Bouldin had stopped his SUV along the side of the road to retrieve mail from his mailbox when another SUV, driven by Douglas Jones, struck both Bouldin and his vehicle.

Emergency responders from Hopkinsville EMS arrived quickly and began life-saving measures. Bouldin was transported to Jennie Stuart Health, where CPR continued, but he tragically succumbed to his injuries a short time later.

A woman who was inside Bouldin’s SUV at the time of the crash and Douglas Jones, the other driver, were both taken to Jennie Stuart Health for treatment of their injuries. Officials have not yet released updates on their conditions.

The Christian County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash to determine what led to the collision.

This heartbreaking accident has left family, friends, and the local community mourning the loss of William Bouldin, who will be remembered for his warmth, kindness, and the love he shared with those around him.
