DENHAM SPRINGS, La. — A 76-year-old man was killed and another person was injured in a single-vehicle crash early Saturday morning, October 25, 2025, on Interstate 12 in Denham Springs.
According to the Denham Springs Police Department, officers responded to the scene in the westbound lanes of I-12 near mile marker 8 around 7:30 a.m. Investigators determined that the vehicle suffered a tire blowout, causing the driver to lose control and the vehicle to overturn.
The driver, identified as Robert Harrison, of Port Allen, was ejected from the vehicle during the crash. Despite life-saving efforts, he was pronounced deceased at the scene. A passenger in the vehicle sustained injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Authorities closed portions of the interstate for several hours while investigating and clearing the wreckage. The Denham Springs Police Department continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the fatal accident.
