MERIDIANVILLE, Ala — A tragic crash in Madison County Monday afternoon has claimed the life of 27-year-old Dezi Fletcher Jr., leaving another man injured.

According to Huntsville Emergency Medical Services, Inc. (HEMSI), the collision occurred around 4:30 p.m. at the intersection of Jack Thomas Road and Patterson Lane in Meridianville. Emergency responders arrived on the scene within minutes to find two individuals trapped in the wreckage of a two-vehicle crash.

Madison County Coroner Dr. Tyler Berryhill confirmed that Fletcher was pronounced dead at the scene from injuries sustained in the crash. The second victim was transported to Huntsville Hospital Trauma Services, where he remains in stable condition, according to authorities.

Law enforcement closed portions of the roadway for several hours as investigators reconstructed the scene and gathered evidence to determine what led to the fatal accident.

Friends and family are heartbroken over the sudden loss of Fletcher, describing him as a kind, loyal, and hard-working young man whose smile could brighten any room. Community members have taken to social media to share condolences and memories, expressing disbelief over the tragedy.
