PUEBLO, Colo. (November 1, 2025) — The Pueblo Police Department has arrested 25-year-old Darian Cocilo in connection with a deadly shooting that claimed the life of Bryce Woolery, marking the city’s 11th homicide of the year.
According to police, the shooting occurred just before 2:30 a.m. on November 1st, when a ShotSpotter system detected 15 rounds fired near Acero Avenue and Anasazi Street, in the area of Mountain View Cemetery and Northern Avenue.
When officers arrived, they found a man suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite efforts to save him, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The Pueblo County Coroner’s Office later identified the victim as Bryce Woolery, a Pueblo resident.
Following an investigation, detectives arrested Darian Cocilo, who now faces charges of first-degree murder and battery. Authorities have not yet released details about a possible motive, but the investigation remains active and ongoing.
Police said Cocilo is currently being held at the Pueblo County Jail on a $750,000 cash bond.
The death of Bryce Woolery has sent shockwaves through the community. Family and friends describe him as a kind-hearted young man who was always willing to help others. His life was taken far too soon, leaving loved ones heartbroken and calling for justice.
