COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Columbus community is grieving the heartbreaking loss of 33-year-old Shakeilah White, who tragically lost her life in a shooting early Sunday morning. Around 3:30 a.m., officers with the Columbus Division of Police responded to a home in the 1100 block of Wildwood Avenue, near Brentnell Avenue, following reports of gunfire.
When police arrived, they discovered Shakeilah suffering from a gunshot wound. She was rushed to Grant Medical Center in critical condition but sadly passed away a short time later. Authorities confirmed that a man at the scene was detained and later charged with tampering with evidence and weapons-related offenses. The exact motive and events leading up to the shooting are still under investigation.
