According to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT), the collision occurred around 6:30 a.m. on Route 11 (Molly Pitcher Highway) in Greene Township and involved a tractor-trailer and a passenger vehicle.

The Franklin County Coroner’s Office was called to the scene shortly after the crash. Preliminary findings from the Pennsylvania State Police indicate that a 2006 Lincoln Zephyr, traveling southbound, veered across the center turning lane and entered the northbound lane, where it collided with a tractor-trailer.

All three occupants of the Lincoln were pronounced deceased at the scene. Police have identified the victims as 47-year-old Saintanie Jean Baptiste of Chambersburg, 42-year-old Jodelens Joseph of Chambersburg, and 30-year-old Claire Elveus of Lauderhill, Florida.

Following the collision, Route 11 was temporarily closed between Wagner Road and Pinola Road while authorities conducted their investigation and cleared debris from the roadway. PennDOT confirmed that the highway has since reopened.

The Pennsylvania State Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash, including what may have caused the Lincoln to cross into oncoming traffic.
