DALLAS, TX — The Dallas Cowboys and the wider football community are mourning the tragic loss of Marshawn Kneeland, the team’s 24-year-old defensive end, who passed away on Thursday morning. A native of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Kneeland was a standout player at Western Michigan University, where he played from 2019 to 2023. Over his college career, he recorded 148 combined tackles and 13 sacks, earning recognition as one of the top defensive talents in the nation. His performance led the Dallas Cowboys to select him in the second round (56th overall pick) of the 2024 NFL Draft.

In his second NFL season, Kneeland had made his mark with 12 combined tackles, including six solo stops and one sack through seven games.
