BRONX, N.Y. — The New York City Police Department is investigating a deadly shooting that claimed the life of 25-year-old Chanler Reams on Sunday evening, November 9, 2025, in the Bronx.

According to authorities, officers from the 48th Precinct responded to reports of a shooting around 5:45 p.m. at 2111 Southern Boulevard. Upon arrival, officers discovered Reams unconscious and unresponsive inside the building, suffering from a gunshot wound to the head.

Emergency Medical Services arrived shortly after and pronounced Reams dead at the scene.

Members of the NYPD Crime Scene Unit processed the area while officers secured the location. Personnel from the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner later took possession of Reams’ body for further examination.

As of now, no arrests have been made, and investigators continue to search for the suspect or suspects involved. The investigation remains active and ongoing, and anyone with information is urged to contact the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
