The tight-knit community of Delbarton, West Virginia, is mourning the heartbreaking loss of Jacob Ray, who tragically died in a motorcycle crash Wednesday afternoon, November 12, 2025, along State Route 65 in the Lenore area of Mingo County.
According to the West Virginia Division of Highways, the crash occurred around 2:30 p.m. near Lenore Memorial Gardens, close to milepost 18.7. Emergency crews were called to the scene after reports of a serious collision involving a motorcycle. Despite swift response and lifesaving efforts, Jacob Ray was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities closed both directions of Route 65 for several hours as investigators examined the scene and worked to determine what led to the fatal crash.
