Kylee Kaylene Lawrence, age 29, passed away on Friday, July 11, 2025. She was born May 26, 1996, to Shawn Lawrence and Kathy Mills Lawrence in Wichita, Kansas.
Kylee graduated from Goddard High School in 2014. She then graduated from Fort Hays State University in 2018 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice. She worked for Ellis County Jail for 2 years before joining the Wichita Police Department in 2020. She enjoyed mudding in her jeep, fishing, rescuing animals, but her favorite job was being an Aunt to her niece and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Kay Mills; grandfather, Danny Lawrence; grandmother, Sandy Mills; uncle, Jeffrey Lawrence; and her beloved cats, Syko and Knubbins.
Kylee is survived by her mother, Kathy Lawrence; father, Shawn (Christy) Lawrence; her brothers, Kory (Julia) Lawrence and Dakoda (Stacy) Hammer; her step-sister, Taylor (Cody) Kretchmar; her nephews: Keaton, Lawrence, Owen, and Elisha; her niece; Hailey; her grandfather; Armon Mills; her grandmother; Brenda Lawrence; several aunts, uncles, and cousins; fellow WPD officers, and friends.
A Celebration of Life Service for Kylee will be held at Riverlawn Christian Church located at 4243 N. Meridian Avenue in Wichita, KS on Saturday, July 19th at 10 am.
