It is with profound sorrow that we announce the tragic passing of Corrections Officer Charles Goodall of Pima County, Arizona. Charles, only at the beginning of his dedicated service in public safety, tragically lost his life on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, in a fatal motorcycle accident on Interstate 10 near Casa Blanca Road.
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, Charles was riding his motorcycle when he was involved in a collision that resulted in him being thrown from his bike and subsequently struck by a semi-truck. Despite life-saving efforts, Charles was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
Officer Goodall, Badge #9989, had recently embarked on a career committed to public service, having served for five months at the Pima County Adult Detention Complex. Though his time in uniform was brief, his dedication, spirit, and desire to make a difference were unmistakable and left a lasting impression on his colleagues and community.
Charles will be remembered for his courageous heart, selfless service, and the kindness he extended to everyone around him. He was known among family, friends, and co-workers for his strong work ethic, warm smile, and sense of duty. His passing leaves a tremendous void in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
The Pima County Sheriff’s Department mourns the loss of a valued officer and extends its deepest condolences to Charles’ family, friends, and fellow officers during this difficult time. His commitment to serving his community will never be forgotten.
