SYRACUSE, N.Y. — A homicide investigation is underway after Nicole Azzoto, 40, was found dead inside a Syracuse residence on July 18. Police have charged Anthony Price, 56, also of Syracuse, with second-degree murder in connection with her death.
Officers were dispatched to 103 Glass Terrace around 2:27 p.m. to assist another agency with a status check. Upon arrival, authorities discovered Azzoto deceased inside the home under what they described as “suspicious circumstances.” She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Detectives with the Syracuse Police Department’s Homicide Unit immediately launched an investigation, conducting interviews, canvassing the neighborhood, and executing multiple search warrants. Evidence collected at the scene played a crucial role in identifying a suspect.
As the investigation progressed, Anthony Price was located at the same address on Glass Terrace and taken in for questioning at the Public Safety Building. He was later arrested and booked into the Onondaga County Justice Center Thursday evening.
Authorities have not yet released further details about the nature of Azzoto’s death or the relationship between the victim and the suspect. The case remains active, and police say additional updates may follow as the investigation continues.
Anyone with further information is encouraged to contact the Syracuse Police Department or submit tips anonymously through Crime Stoppers.
