It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Anthony Hinkler, 86, of Greenville, South Carolina, who tragically lost his life on the morning of Saturday, July 19, 2025, following a pedestrian accident near the intersection of Roper Mountain Road and Green Arbor Lane.
According to the Greenville County Coroner’s Office, Anthony was struck by a vehicle while walking shortly before 8 a.m. Despite the swift response of emergency personnel, he was pronounced dead at the scene at 8:16 a.m. An external examination determined that Anthony died from multiple blunt force injuries. His death has been ruled accidental.
Anthony was a longtime resident of the Greenville community, where he was known for his quiet presence, kind demeanor, and daily walks around the neighborhood. His passing has deeply affected those who knew him, and community members have expressed their condolences and shared fond memories of his friendly wave and familiar face.
In addition to being a beloved neighbor and friend, Anthony lived a full life marked by quiet strength and resilience. Though soft-spoken, his impact was felt deeply by those who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be remembered for his gentle spirit and his enduring grace.
