Emmalee Jackman, 31, Killed in Hit-and-Run While Riding Scooter in Sylvania Township

TOLEDO, OH — The Toledo community is mourning the tragic loss of 31-year-old Emmalee Jackman, who was killed in a hit-and-run crash early Sunday morning, July 20, 2025, while riding an electric scooter.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP), the fatal incident occurred at approximately 12:20 a.m. on N. Holland-Sylvania Road at Huntingfield Boulevard in Sylvania Township. Jackman was riding her scooter southbound when she was struck from behind by an unknown vehicle traveling in the same direction.

The driver fled the scene, leaving Jackman fatally injured. Emergency responders arrived shortly after the collision, but despite their efforts, she was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities say the suspect vehicle likely has visible damage, including a missing right passenger-side mirror and damage to the right front headlight. As of now, no description of the vehicle or driver has been released.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol and multiple other agencies responded to the scene, closing the roadway for approximately 90 minutes during the investigation. The road has since been reopened to traffic.
