With deep sadness, we announce the passing of Virgil Milby, 76, who tragically lost his life in a motorcycle accident on July 15, 2025, in Louisville, Kentucky.
The crash occurred around 10:45 a.m. on eastbound Interstate 265 near New Cut Road. According to the Louisville Metro Police Department, Virgil lost control of his motorcycle and ran off the road. No other vehicles were involved. He was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office.
Virgil was a proud Kentuckian whose love for the open road reflected his independent spirit and enduring zest for life. Friends and family remember him as a kind-hearted man with a gentle soul, a storyteller, and someone who found peace and freedom on two wheels. His passing has left a profound void in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
LMPD’s Traffic Unit is continuing to investigate the cause of the crash.
Virgil’s life, marked by quiet strength and a love for life’s simple joys, will be remembered with love, gratitude, and great affection.
