HOMICIDE INVESTIGATION – 700 Block of W 4th Avenue, Anchorage

ANCHORAGE, ALASKA — Authorities in Anchorage are investigating a tragic overnight shooting that left one man dead and three others injured in the downtown area. The violent incident occurred in the early morning hours of Sunday , July 20, in the 700 block of West 4th Avenue, prompting a swift and ongoing response from law enforcement.

At approximately 2:50 a.m., officers with the Anchorage Police Department were dispatched following multiple reports of shots fired in the area. Upon arrival, they discovered three victims suffering from gunshot wounds:

  • One adult male was pronounced deceased at the scene.
  • A second individual sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported by medics to a local hospital.
  • A third victim was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Shortly after, police located a fourth victim, also suffering from non-life-threatening injuries.

The Anchorage Police Crime Scene Team was called in to document and process the scene, and detectives are now working to determine the motive and whether the individuals involved were known to one another.

At this time, no suspect is in custody, and no identifying information about a potential suspect has been released. Investigators are actively pursuing leads and conducting interviews to piece together the events that led to the shooting.
