Two Killed in Tragic Head-On Collision on I-15 Near Payson, Utah
PAYSON, Utah – Tragedy struck the I-15 corridor near Payson over the weekend when a violent head-on collision claimed the lives of two individuals in a crash that has deeply shaken the local community.
According to the Utah Highway Patrol, the victims have been identified as Riley Durst, 19, of Draper, and Christopher Suiter, 50, of Santaquin. The fatal crash occurred during the early morning hours on a stretch of I-15, where investigators say one of the vehicles crossed into oncoming traffic for reasons still under investigation.
Emergency crews responded swiftly to the scene, but both Durst and Suiter were pronounced dead on site due to the severity of their injuries. No additional passengers were reported, and authorities are working to determine if speed, impairment, or distraction were contributing factors in the collision.
The loss of these two lives has sent shockwaves through their respective communities.
