CINCINNATI, OH — A tragic shooting in West Price Hill has left a 46-year-old man dead, prompting a homicide investigation by the Cincinnati Police Department. The incident marks yet another painful addition to the city’s growing list of violent crimes in 2025.
Officers responded to the scene around 1:30 a.m. Monday on Rapid Run Pike, where the victim was found suffering from at least one gunshot wound to the chest. Emergency personnel quickly transported the man to UC Medical Center, but despite life-saving efforts, he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
Authorities have not yet released the victim’s identity as they work to notify next of kin.
The area surrounding the scene was cordoned off as the Cincinnati Police Homicide Unit began its investigation. At this time, no arrests have been made, and investigators are working to establish a motive and identify any suspects involved. Police are urging residents who may have seen or heard anything suspicious to come forward with information.
“This is a tragedy, and our detectives are committed to finding out exactly what happened,” said a CPD spokesperson. “We’re asking the community to help us bring justice to the victim and peace to his family.”
The shooting has left the West Price Hill community shaken, with neighbors expressing concern over the rising number of violent incidents in the area. As the investigation continues, police presence in the neighborhood has increased to ensure safety and gather potential leads.
