The San Antonio community is mourning the tragic loss of 28-year-old Omar Pedro Garcia, who was fatally struck by a vehicle while crossing Bandera Road over the weekend.
The incident occurred around 10 p.m. on Saturday in the 1000 block of Bandera Road. According to San Antonio police, Garcia was attempting to cross the roadway when he was hit by a Dodge Nitro.
On Monday, the Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed Garcia’s identity and stated that he died from blunt force injuries. His death has been officially ruled an accident.
Authorities reported that the driver of the Dodge Nitro, a 35-year-old woman, fled the scene following the crash. As of now, no further details have been released regarding the suspect or potential charges.
The case remains under active investigation, and anyone with information is urged to contact San Antonio police.
