The Moraine community is mourning the tragic loss of Leonidas Davis, a 55-year-old man who died following a motorcycle accident on Wednesday evening. The Montgomery County Coroner’s Office officially identified Davis on Thursday morning.
The fatal crash occurred around 8:10 p.m. near the intersection of Hemple Road and Germantown Pike, according to reports from News Center 7. When officers arrived on the scene, they discovered that a three-wheeled motorcycle had collided with a sedan.
Leonidas Davis, who was operating the motorcycle, was ejected from the vehicle during the crash. Despite the efforts of nearby bystanders who rushed to provide aid, Davis was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Moraine Police Sergeant Andrew Parish.
The driver of the sedan sustained minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the collision. It remains unclear what factors may have contributed to the crash, and officials are continuing to collect evidence and witness statements.
