Jyisaiah Cuthrell, 26, tragically lost his life in a fatal shooting that occurred early Thursday morning in Lexington, North Carolina. The incident, now under active investigation as a homicide, unfolded shortly after midnight on July 24, 2025, in the 200 block of Federal Street.
Lexington police responded to a 911 call reporting gunfire around 12:30 a.m. Upon arrival, officers discovered Cuthrell on the front porch of a residence, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Officers immediately rendered life-saving aid until Davidson County EMS arrived. Cuthrell was rushed to Lexington Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead despite emergency efforts.
The Lexington Police Department, along with detectives and crime scene investigators, quickly secured the area and began processing the scene. Officials have confirmed that the shooting appears to be an isolated incident, and there is no ongoing threat to public safety at this time.
