RICHMOND, Ind. — Authorities in Wayne County are actively investigating the sudden and tragic death of 19-year-old Caleigh Lindsay, who was found unresponsive earlier this week at a residence in Richmond.
According to the Richmond Police Department, dispatchers received a call at approximately 11:02 a.m. on Wednesday, July 24, reporting an unconscious individual at a home in the 1300 block of South Tenth Street. Emergency responders were immediately dispatched to the scene, where they discovered the young woman was not breathing. Despite their efforts, Lindsay was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The victim was later identified as Caleigh Lindsay, a 19-year-old resident of the Richmond area.
In a public statement, Richmond Police Chief Kyle Weatherly expressed condolences to Lindsay’s loved ones.
“Our hearts go out to the family and loved ones of this young woman,” said Chief Weatherly. “We understand the community is deeply concerned and has many questions. We are committed to conducting a complete, transparent, and thorough investigation.”
At this time, the cause and manner of death have not been determined, and authorities have not indicated whether foul play is suspected.
