Shooting Incident at Clarksville Speedway and Fairgrounds – May 31
Clarksville, TN – On the evening of May 31, a shooting incident disrupted festivities at the Clarksville Speedway and Fairgrounds, where a fair was underway. At approximately 9:10 p.m., off-duty officers working security at the event reported gunfire coming from the parking lot near the entrance.
Additional officers from the Clarksville Police Department quickly responded and found a Black male victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. The victim was transported to Tennova Healthcare, and his current condition remains unknown.
Witnesses Report Multiple Suspects Fleeing
According to eyewitness accounts, approximately five to six Black males were seen running from the scene toward Hazelwood Road following the gunfire. Police believe the incident to be isolated, though the motive and identities of those involved are still under investigation.
Appeal for Public Assistance
Authorities are asking residents and businesses near the Clarksville Speedway and Hazelwood Road to review surveillance camera footage from around the time of the incident.
“If you notice anything suspicious or believe you may have captured relevant footage, please contact 911 immediately or reach out to the Clarksville Police Department,” officials said in a statement.

The Clarksville Police Department continues to investigate and is working to determine the full circumstances surrounding the shooting. No arrests have been made as of now.
