Jordan Hansen, 25, Killed in Tragic Motorcycle Crash in Wareham; Repeat OUI Offender Charged

WAREHAM, Mass. — A heartbreaking crash on Friday evening has claimed the life of 25-year-old Jordan Hansen, a motorcyclist from the local area. The two-vehicle collision occurred around 5:00 p.m. on July 19 near 2628 Cranberry Highway, prompting a swift response from emergency personnel and law enforcement.

Upon arrival, Wareham police and first responders found Hansen suffering from life-threatening injuries after his motorcycle collided with a passenger vehicle. He was quickly transported to Tobey Hospital and then transferred to St. Luke’s Hospital, where, despite all medical efforts, he was later pronounced dead.

The Plymouth District Attorney’s Office confirmed Hansen’s identity and announced that a full investigation into the fatal crash remains ongoing.

Shortly after the collision, officers located the other vehicle involved—a passenger car—approximately a quarter mile from the crash site. The driver, 67-year-old Raymond Cardoza of West Wareham, was taken into custody.

Cardoza now faces multiple serious charges, including:

  • Manslaughter while operating under the influence (OUI), marking his fourth OUI offense
  • Leaving the scene of an accident resulting in injury or death
  • Operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license

He was held on $100,000 cash bail and is expected to face legal proceedings as the investigation continues. The severity of the charges reflects the fatal outcome and Cardoza’s history of impaired driving, which has reignited community concern over repeat OUI offenders.

Authorities have not yet provided details about the precise cause of the crash or whether additional charges may be filed. Investigators are currently gathering evidence, witness statements, and conducting forensic analysis to better understand what led to the deadly collision.

The Wareham community is mourning the tragic and sudden loss of Jordan Hansen, remembered as a young man with his whole life ahead of him. His death has left family, friends, and neighbors grappling with grief and calls for stronger enforcement against repeat impaired drivers.

The Plymouth District Attorney’s Office, in conjunction with Wareham Police and other agencies, urges anyone with information related to the crash to come forward to assist in the investigation.

As the legal process moves forward, Jordan’s family seeks justice and peace amid an unimaginable loss. His memory now becomes a poignant reminder of the lasting impact one careless act can have.
