POMFRET, Conn. — A tragic crash on Fabyan Road Saturday evening has claimed the life of Robert M. White, a 58-year-old local man, according to the Connecticut State Police.
The fatal collision involved White’s 2006 Harley Davidson Street Glide motorcycle and a 2020 Toyota 4Runner. Police reported that the SUV was being driven by a 44-year-old woman from Canterbury and also had a 52-year-old male passenger from South Hadley, Massachusetts.
The crash occurred under circumstances still being investigated. Authorities stated that the SUV’s driver may have sustained injuries in the collision and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. The male passenger was reportedly uninjured.
White was pronounced dead at the scene. His death marks a somber moment for the local community, where he was known and respected.
The Connecticut State Police Troop D is leading the ongoing investigation and is asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who has information to contact them at 860-779-4900.
