Betty E. Campbell, 66, Killed in Butler County Motorcycle Accident

WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – Betty E. Campbell, 66, of Butler, tragically lost her life in a motorcycle accident Saturday afternoon, July 26, 2025, along Route 38 (Oneida Valley Road) in Butler County.

The crash occurred shortly after 1 p.m. near the intersection of Annisville Road, along a route designated for the Riding for the Cure event. Pennsylvania State Police responded to the scene and found the motorcycle in a creek bed.

Authorities say the operator of a three-wheeled motorcycle was traveling southbound on Route 38 when the vehicle drifted off the roadway, crossed the centerline, and struck a guiderail. The impact caused the vehicle to leave the roadway and crash.

Betty Campbell, a passenger on the motorcycle, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver, whose identity has not been released, sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to a Pittsburgh hospital for treatment.

Several riders participating in the charitable Riding for the Cure event stopped to assist until emergency responders arrived.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing. Betty E. Campbell is remembered as a cherished member of the Butler community, and her sudden passing has left family and friends in deep mourning.
