Teen Girl Killed, Two Others Injured in Aurora Shooting; Police Seek Witnesses and Video Evidence
AURORA, CO — The Aurora Police Department’s Major Crime Homicide Unit is actively investigating a fatal shooting that occurred early Sunday morning, leaving a 15-year-old girl dead and two others injured in northwest Aurora.
At approximately 12:30 a.m. on Sunday, June 1, Aurora police officers responded to a reported shooting involving two victims near Aurora Fire Rescue Station 2, located at 12600 E. Hoffman Boulevard.
Aurora firefighters, who were just returning to the station from an unrelated call, discovered the two victims and immediately rendered medical aid.
The victims were identified as a 15-year-old girl and a 20-year-old woman, both from Aurora. Tragically, the teenage girl suffered life-threatening injuries and was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at the hospital. Her identity will be released by the Arapahoe County Coroner’s Office. The 20-year-old woman sustained non-life-threatening injuries and is expected to survive.
Several hours after the initial response, investigators learned of a third victim, also a 15-year-old girl, who suffered a graze wound during the incident. Her family declined medical treatment.
At this time, no arrests have been made, and police have not released suspect information. The circumstances surrounding the shooting remain under investigation, and detectives believe that multiple witnesses may have recorded cellphone footage during or immediately after the gunfire.
Authorities are now urging anyone who may have video or information about the shooting to come forward.
