JEFFERSON COUNTY, MS — Tragedy struck the annual Fayette Festival on Saturday night when a mass shooting left one person dead and multiple others injured, officials confirmed. The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department reported that six individuals were shot during the incident, with Rayshaude Hudson identified as the victim who succumbed to his injuries.
Sheriff James Bailey provided the somber update, noting that the conditions of the other victims have not yet been disclosed. The shooting occurred amid a large crowd attending the community’s beloved annual event, sending shockwaves through the close-knit area.
